Kiosk, Brighton Seafront

In 2021, we were appointed the project of relocating and reconstructing a historic kiosk Near East Street on the upper promenade. Dating back to approximately 1883, our objective was to preserve as much as possible of the original 10-sided steel frame structure.

Our responsibilities encompassed extensive collaboration with architects, engineers and the local authority to ensure compliance with listed building regulations. This involved resembling the original steel frame at the new location, reconstructing the timber façade, installing a bespoke copper roof, as well as fascias, soffits and cast iron gutters. To complete the project, we carried out an internal fit-out, transforming the kiosk into a café.
